One of my mostly-on-line friends is Indiana-based electronic musician
Jason Crowe, who mainly records music under the name Pandable. During the
summer of 2007, we met up at my place in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he stuck around
for maybe a week, and the end result was a stream-of-consciousness recording
to serve as a soundtrack for the famous Salvador Dalí / Luis Bunñel
collaboration, Un Chein Andalou.
We're very proud of this. VERY. It was originally intended to be a credit
to "This Is Where the Fish Lives wsg Pandable", but by the time we finished
it, long story short, we decided it was too good to credit to what basically
started out as a joke (TIWtFL) and a variation on a guest-collaborator's
childhood nickname.
I have recently admitted defeat in attempts to see remixes of this. In
short, Industrial musicians are too-easily distracted with their own creations
to be relied on for favours to a friend several states away. Maybe in the
future, I'll try this again? Until then, feel free to e-mail me (rowan *at*
sexyhobbitsuperstar *dot* com) about DVD-R copies of the soundtrack; and
before you ask, yes, I am open to arranging special event screenings of Un
Chein Andalou with the new soundtrack.
